Within the framework of the project, the competencies of the academic staff at Riga Technical University (RTU) and the University of Latvia (UL) will be enhanced through international mobility and collaboration with European research centres. In addition, a talent development programme will be created to attract and train young specialists for innovations in microelectronics.
Lifelong Learning
The Latvian Chip Competence Centre (LCCC) is a national initiative that supports Latvia’s integration into the European semiconductor and integrated photonics ecosystem. The centre provides ecosystem stakeholders with opportunities to enhance knowledge, competencies, and skills to accelerate the growth of this sector.
Within the lifelong learning framework, courses and practical workshops will be offered to improve the skills of engineers, technicians, and managers.
Schools and Workshops
The summer schools and workshops organised by the LCCC focus on developing the latest knowledge and practical skills in the fields of microelectronics and semiconductor technologies. They bring together students, researchers, and industry professionals who are given the opportunity to learn about current technologies, design methods, and innovation processes. The programme combines lectures, hands-on laboratory sessions, and teamwork to address real-world industry challenges.
Summer schools and workshops promote collaboration between academia and industry, facilitating knowledge transfer and the development of new ideas. They provide access to modern infrastructure and experienced mentors, creating an inspiring environment for the growth of young talents. These initiatives strengthen local expertise and support the sustainable development of high-technology sectors.
