On October 2, the Latvian Chip Competence Centre had the pleasure of hosting colleagues from across the Baltics and Finland for the Baltic + Finnish Competence Centres Workshop in Riga.

The event brought together representatives from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Finland to exchange insights, strengthen collaboration, and explore future opportunities for advancing microelectronics and semiconductor development in the region.

The agenda featured opening presentations, interactive focus group sessions, and networking discussions around key themes:

The workshop concluded with group presentations, closing remarks, and networking, reinforcing the importance of building a strong Baltic-Finnish community of competence centres. Each focus group also outlined a concrete action plan with next steps for collaboration, ensuring that the discussions will translate into practical outcomes. The day wrapped up with active networking and knowledge exchange, strengthening ties across the region and paving the way for future joint initiatives.

We are grateful to all participants for their contributions and look forward to continuing this collaboration towards a stronger European microelectronics ecosystem.
